In color therapy, blue is used for calming, relaxing, and healing. It’s not surprising then that Blue Tansy extract, with its deep cerulean hue, abounds with anti-inflammatory, antihistamine, soothing, and healing properties. This rare oil from Morocco is precious, expensive, and often imitated—but the real thing is unmistakable with its intoxicating aroma that evokes faraway places while calming the mind.
With an onslaught of pollution, stress, seasonal allergies, and other environmental aggressors, skin sensitivity is becoming a major concern. It seems like every day there is a whodunnit trying to pinpoint what broke me out, what made me itchy, or where that new patch of eczema came from. While I ponder whether it was the oak pollen, the ice cream or my new pillowcase, what I really want is to make it go away. Fast. And that’s where these blue wonders come in.
- Raaw in a Jar Blue Beauty Drops
Jojoba, baobab, kukui, and avocado are the base of this lightweight blue oil. Massage in a few drops before you hydrate, or wear on its own if you're combo, oily, or live somewhere humid.
- May Lindstrom Blue Cocoon
This miracle balm is the holy grail of blue tansy formulas. Don't be afraid of the texture—it doesn't contain any waxes and melts on contact to a liquid. It wears beautifully under makeup, but I especially like it as a night time treat. I wear it all over my face including around my eyes, on my lips, and anywhere I have eczema.
- Linda Ross Anti Aging Cream
With peptides, squalane, and a cocktail of essential oils, this is a lovely cream for anti aging and sensitivity. This one does have a tiny bit of a silicone, but didn't bother my acne-prone skin.
Oh, and of course, the lovely blue hue dissipates on the skin. You won't end up with the complexion of a smurf.
