La Bella Figura Skin Care and Makeup Review
I know It's been too long since I've blogged when I realize that all of the bottles pictured (except the eye serum) are now empty. This is also an indicator that I truly loved them, as I'm what you might call a skin care "dabbler", and it's rare I actually finish anything. Get ready for a hefty review of La Bella Figura Skin Care, as well as their blush and highlighter.
My parcel of La Bella Figura arrived with the most gorgeous presentation. The all white packaging and attention to detail were exquisite. While they are very different otherwise, it reminded me of May Lindstrom's luxurious aesthetics, but in white instead of black. This all natural, organic range is centered around Barbary Fig seed oil, which contains a whopping 88% of naturally occurring Vitamin E. They also leave out everything on my do not use list like synthetic fragrance, silicone, mineral oil, and parabens, and they're cruelty-free. (The range is also vegan except for the face masks which contain honey.)
At 32 (almost 33!!!) my skin is in a fun phase of first wrinkles and regular breakouts. It's dehydrated, but prone to congestion (that's a fancy way of saying blackheads), and generally schizophrenic, especially in warmer weather. Founder Victoria Fantauzzi created this regimen for me, and the results spoke for themselves. My skin balanced out, my breakouts calmed down, and my skin felt fresh with the light textures.
Modern Radiance Concentrate-
Formulated with Kakadu Plums, a whole and stable form of Vitamin C, this serum has a gel cream texture and a green, almost spicy scent. I used this AM and PM, and found it very energizing and brightening. I could see a difference in the texture of my skin while using this serum, and like the way it faded old acne spots.
Crema Supernova Day Cream-
This is a MUST HAVE staple for every skin type. This cream in its convenient pump hydrates without being heavy, and the texture feels so modern and airy. In the green beauty world of oils and balms this is a rarity. It gives a nice bounce to the skin, and has a fresh, green scent. I like that you can layer with an oil or a serum to add more moisture, or wear alone for humid days or oilier skin. It's also wonderful underneath makeup. I used AM over the serum and loved the combo.
La Flora Oil-
A blend of Barbary Fig and rare Sicilian Cactus Flower, this is a lovely, delicate oil. It's very active and effective, but has a light silky texture I think even newcomers to face oils would like. My skin feels plush and nourished when I use it, and never sticky or suffocated. I love to layer this over the serum for PM, or pat over the day cream when I feel extra dry.
Gentle Enzyme Cleanser-
I hate to say it, but this was my weakest link. I wanted to love it with its light gel texture and minimal scent, but I found it didn't really remove my makeup well, even after using a face wipe. It doesn't lather, so I found myself using more and more of it, and the 2 oz. bottle ran out rather quickly. You will love this if you like something super gentle, and you don't wear much makeup. I think upping it to a 3 or 4 oz. bottle would help as well.
Jardin de Fleurs Skin Revitalizer-
A base of raw coconut water with hyaluronic acid and a blend of botanicals make this a gentle, hydrating mist. I loved it a little too much and it was the first to run out. A more generous bottle would be good here, too.
Découverte Under Eye Repair Serum-
This eye serum is an oil in a slim glass vial with a rollerball applicator. My eye area is very sensitive so anything active tends to break me out in red bumps. This serum was pleasantly smoothing and plumping, and didn't irritate my skin. I'm excited to have something anti-aging for my eyes that I can actually use! It also helps with puffiness and darkness, but I can't attest to its efficacy there since (thank god) my eyes tend to be ok there. A teeny bit goes a long way, so it seems like this product will last forever.
Moving on to makeup! Pictured here are the Golden Corrective Highlighter in Brazilian Denise, and the Radiant Creme Blush in Disco Queen Gloria. While I initially wasn't sure about these, they grew on me, and are now in heavy rotation in my day-to-day makeup looks.
The balm-to-oil texture was new for me. Maybe the consistency is different in cooler weather, but these feel more like tinted skincare balms than makeup (because they basically are), and they melt into a dewy oil as they touch your skin. I was worried this would make them feel greasy, and that they wouldn't have a very long wear time. I was wrong! While they do stay dewy, they set and stay put as long as the RMS Lip2Cheek or Kjaer Weis cream blushes. These may not be right for oily skin types, or those with major breakouts on their cheeks, though I would love to hear if anyone with those skin types has tried them! The ingredients would be very healing but the finish may feel too shiny.

Brazilian Denise is a sheer yellow gold with no sparkle or glitter, just a beautiful sheen. This would warm up a fair complexion, or complement medium and deep skin tones beautifully. I use this on the tops of my cheekbones, cupid's bow, and inner corners of my eyes.
Disco Queen Gloria is a flattering rosy bronze with very fine golden flecks that gives a tawny flush perfect for no-makeup-makeup, or for pairing with brighter lip shades. You can use this to subtly sculpt your cheekbones, or across the tops of the cheeks for a healthy sun-kissed look, as well as on lips.
You can see a finished look featuring these shades on my Instagram here.
